Los Alamos is located about 45 minutes from Santa Fe and is the home of
Los Alamos National Labs.
In the spring of 2000 suffered a major forest fire which caused the destruction of a very large percentage of the existing homes in Los
Alamos. Today in the spring of 2004, many of the homes have yet to be rebuilt. As a consequence, the average price of homes now stands at a very high level.
